SHORT TAKES ON THE DRIFTING WRECKAGE – OVERNIGHT: 

WHY DO WE HAVE AN ARMY? – FROM DAILYWIRE:   The United States Army is reportedly considering doing away with its new “gender-neutral physical test” after test results showed that the majority of women failed while approximately 90 percent of men passed. Officials are reportedly considering having different evaluation categories for men and women due to the physiological differences between the two.  “Research showed that the Army Combat Fitness Test [ACFT], which is the same for male and female soldiers, was leading to lower results for women with a knock-on effect for promotions,” The Telegraph reported. “An early Pentagon study showed that women were failing the ACFT at a rate of 65 per cent, while only 10 percent of men did.”  A report from last fall found that 54 percent of women failed the test while only 7 percent of men failed it.  The report said that Congress, which is controlled by the Democrats, stopped the new program from being implemented and the Army is reviewing whether it is fair. Congress does not want the test as it is current constructed to factor into opportunities for advancement, the report said.  It is no disrespect to our brave female soldiers to say that changing the physical rules will put women at extreme risk.  War is not a social experiment.  It is brutal, and brute physical strength is sometimes called for.  The Democrats don't care about military women.  They care only about the feminist ideology. 

AN EDUCATIONAL DILEMMA – FROM FOX:  Multiple California school districts are using state and federal COVID relief money to hand out bonuses for teachers and staff, with one district even suggesting the money be used for a trip to Hawaii.  The internal memos have been shared online by "Reopen California Schools," a Facebook group started early on in the pandemic by Jonathan Zachreson.  Clovis Unified School District, located in Fresno County, reportedly discussed using federal and state relief funds to give employees a "one-time payment to employees … given the extraordinary effort required of every employee over the course of the pandemic."  Zachreson told Fox News that a person involved in the negotiations told him that the district has discussed employee bonuses as high as $6,000 per employee – rather than on students.  Dublin Unified School District, located in the Bay Area, has proposed paying its teachers a one-time $2,500 bonus with state and federal aide to be used for, among other things, "an airplane trip to Hawaii" when the pandemic is over, according to an internal memo obtained by Reopen California Schools.    What a disgrace to the teaching profession, if it's still a profession.  The children come last.
